We are currently recruiting a Medical Records Paginator to work within the busy and successful Clinical Negligence team based at our offices in Sheffield.
Medical Records Paginator
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Medical Records Paginator to join our expanding Civil Litigation department. The ideal candidate will have experience in a medical role.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing an efficient and effective service to sort, collate, index and paginate medical records.
Full time or Part time applications will be considered.
The salary for this position depends on experience.
As part of your role, you will be expected to:
– Sort, collate, paginate and index medical records including DWP, Social Services and Education records using pagination software
– Prepare a chronology of relevant issues arising out of the medical records with reference to the paginated bundle
– The core bundle of records and chronology will need to be updated as the case progresses, as and when updated records are obtained
– Provide written advice / guidance to the fee earners on issues arising when reviewing the medical records including missing records, further records that need to be obtained, potential issues to be investigated that may not have been raised by the Claimant
– Maintain proper diary systems of deadlines set by fee earners
– Liaise with the provider of records to obtain missing documents
We would expect your skills to include:
– Self service, i.e. type own documents and carry out own admin
– Use of document editing and bundling software as wells as word, outlook, excel etc
– Travel to other Howells offices in order to carry out casework
– Work from home if necessary
– Deal quickly and efficiently with tasks set by fee earners
– Communication – written and spoken, active listening
– Problem Solving
– Maintain confidentiality
– Meet chargeable time and financial targets, as agreed with the Head of Civil Litigation
– Attend meetings and training sessions, where relevant to general casework and the firms policies and procedures
– Maintain diaries, including any team diary
– Keep up to date with data inputting
– Ability to work as part of a team and on your own initiative
