Shannon is a solicitor in the medical negligence team at Howells Solicitors, where she supports clients seeking compensation for harm arising from medical errors, delayed or missed diagnoses, and wrongful death claims. Her caseload is varied and includes complex and high‑value matters.
She returned to Howells Solicitors in February 2026, having originally joined the firm in 2016 as a New Client Advisor following her graduation from the University of Sheffield with a 2:1 degree in Law and Criminology.
Her interest in medical negligence developed through her work on the client helpline, where she regularly dealt with enquiries relating to potential clinical negligence claims. This led to the opportunity to shadow Solicitor Jenna Kisala within the firm’s medical negligence department, confirming her desire to specialise in this area.
She subsequently gained further experience through paralegal roles at well‑established Yorkshire‑based law firms, assisting partners and senior solicitors on complex medical negligence cases, including claims involving birth injuries and cauda equina syndrome.
She completed her training contract with Leeds City Council and qualified as a solicitor into civil litigation in July 2023, before returning to her specialist practice in medical negligence.
